A top trout catcher originated by Don Gapen to mimic sculpins. Effective fished any where from the bottom to floating on the surface as a grasshopper. My favourite way to fish this is on an up and across cast with a sink tip line letting it drift deep then allowing your cast to fish out on the downstream swing.

I found this pattern in the The Flies of the North West put together by the Inland Empire Fly Fishing club. A sea run cutthroat pattern it was the first fly I tied that caught a fish. Since that day it has produced a number of nice Westslope Cutts.
